Finished Lower

I’m finaly home for a short period of time and got around to assembling my lower last night.

M&P Lower

The famous G&R Tactical 95% LPK

KNS Anti- Roll pins

RRA standard FCG

G&R tactical H buffer and SS buffer spring

Magpul Trigger Guard

Mil spec buffer tube

LMT buttstock

Houge grip

Now just waiting on ordering a mid length upper, a BCG, and Rear sight.

It all started off like this

And finshed up like this

Brad

Brad,
looks good. One question, the parts bin is that what the parts came in or did you do that your self? If it came that way that is an awesome idea. I can see people easily putting the wrong springs and detents together, unless they have assembled a few for themselves…

I put it together myself. The bin is something my wife had lying around. When I received my parts from Grant, I match it up to a picture of the LPK he had on his web site. And anytime I purchased or received an for my build I just dropped it in place. This bin is almost to small, but it works. Home Depot has some that would work upper and lower parts.

I agree. It would be smart and easier for the builder

I have been doing that for parts for quite a while now. It started when I was building AKs (several) and I was trying to keep parts from the kit as well as parts for the build in one location.
I get mine from the fishing section at Gander Mt. the larger ones have the movable dividers. For some larger parts I ended up removing some dividers to make room.

-Good looking build going there.

It really helped me stay straight with all my parts. All my parts showed up at the house before I did. So when I made it back into town I just open all my packages and placed them groups according to where and what the went with in the lower.

If and when I get spare/extra parts, I’ll store them like this.

Good call on the tackel bins. That would be good for bolt carriers, which need more room and other small parts, that do not take up as much space, that all go in the upper. Being able to change around the bin is a plus

Very nice. I was just wondering how you are going to put that shotgun barrel on it?

I hear ya! I’ve been working with that for a while and its just not workin:D.

Congrats, I just put together a lower a week ago… Looks great!

Well I thought I’d be posting a finished middy here today but…UPS has my upper SITTING in my town and has been SITTING in my town since 0500:confused:. WTF! I have seen those big brown trucks all over today.

I 'm leaving on sunday and delivery is sch. for Monday. DAMN I’m pissed

Sorry for bitching but the wife quit listening awhile ago:(

I called ups (Oops) to ask about picking up my box with my butt stock and fore grip from the distribution center friday since it too is scheduled for monday delivery, yet has been sitting at the terminal since wed afternoon… They said they were closed due to it being a holiday thursday and friday.

I wish I’d chosen fedex! They brought me 2 boxes friday and will be bringing me another (no extra charge for sat delivery - like oops does) today.

None of which really matters, because my FFL guy dropped the ball and didn’t get his info sent till after business hours on tuesday, so my lower won’t ship till monday. I’m also waiting on my barrel which should be early this week.

So…my upper is in. All ready to be mated with my lower…Guess where I’m at…Not at home… Stuck in Glynco, Ga.

Sorry for the bitching.

I post some pix up when I get my middy put together.

Sorry for tha crappy cell pics, but my camera was left 400 miles away at home.

Now that I have my middy MOE handguards, I can finish this thread. Picked up a MOE VFG and the MOE Illumination kit and slapped it on. I just want a different muzzle break, pick up an optic and it should be a rap. Or does it never end…

Nice job on the build… looks like a keeper! It’d be a real plus if you posted a range report too.

About Oops… I mean UPS… I feel your pain and have had similar frustrations with that “fine organization” myself.

They “lost” a $2300 upper I’d sent to a customer. After going through a huge song and dance with them over about 3 days I HAD to do something to satisfy my client.

So I rebuilt the upper and this time sent it to him FedEx. Got there no prob. Guess what? The first upper showed up 2 days before my insurance claim would have been processed. After my customer got done laughing at me he sent it back to me via FedEx. Makes you begin to believe in conspiracy theories.

Sweet looking build. I really like the Magpul accessories. Their foregrips are pretty solid and easy to add rails for other goodies!

Question about your M&P lower… I have the same lower and notice some “play” at the front pin location where the upper connects. Do you have the same wiggle room? I’m trying to figure out how to minimize that. Any suggestions?

That “play” is normal. If it doesn’t rattle like a pocketful of change then it’s not an AR-15…

Some people use aquarium cement to reduce the clearance by putting a small amount of cement in the bottom of the front pin socket. Personally I hate doing it due to the fact that it’s only a temporary fix. And, to be honest, it doesn’t help with accuracy.

Don’t say that, it drives me crazy! I shot a bud’s custom build last weekend and it was rock solid - spikes lower and vltor upper. It was a sweet rig.

Oh well, I will just use that as my excuse when I miss.
