I just picked up a new colt 6920 the other day and have yet to get to the range with it due to the crappy weather we have been getting the last couple of days. But when i broke the rifle down yesterday do lube it up. I noticed that inside the upper receiver right where the BCG would sit is a grey finish instead of black. Im not new to the ar world but for the life of me i cant ever remember seeing one like this. I cant imagine it would affect the operation of the rifle but is this normal for colt?
Dry lube coating. Normal.
Normal, it’s dry lube, it’s supposed to be there.
There are countless threads about this.
Ah that would explain it. Its my first colt so not used to every thing being squared away. I know my m&p 15 a couple years ago didnt have it

No big deal just the way it’s machined. I was a little suprised. I just got mine the other day. Not going to effect anything important.
