Finally got the Colt Scout C-More kit installed on my Colt 9MM. Needed some machining of the aluminum bracket, but it’s on. Also had to change out the handguards to a pair of regular carbine type that had a smaller outside diameter. Now for a little touchup on the bottom of the mount, and it’s done.

It looks good. Is your C-More the one with the aluminum or polymer body? Let us know how it rings out.
Nice and old skool looking. I REALLY want to like the c-more sights, but always hear horror stories. Keep us updated on things such as how it holds zero and battery life.
Update: It’s cool. It’s the polymer version. Stays on target, perfect every shot, and there’s been about 300 rounds down the pipe with it. I’ve had three other shooters use it, and no one can fault it at all. You can co-witness, but there’s no reason to do that - you can look over the handle and that red dot’s right on the target every time. Comes up on target, full open view. I was shooting A-27 50-yard smallbore targets (I’m a precision shooter), and between me and the other three shooters, we shredded the centers of each bull at 20 yards shooting offhand (standing).
Waiting for my tax stamp for the Gemtech Multimount sitting in my dealer’s safe, and that project gun will be finished!
Try to track battery life, if possible.
I ran one of the metal-bodied C-More ATACs in Iraq for 14 months.
Beat living 'ell out of it and it worked fine.
The only problem I had were the az/el adjustment locking screws were very small. You had to be careful to prevent damaging them and/or the tiny allen wrench.
Other than that, best sighting system for fast acq…just a big ring/lens and a dot.
C-More is still working on the original batteries…
Added a Surefire M73 rail kit and a front end broom handle. Mounted the handle at the same distance as the C-More lens extends.
Still waiting patiently for my tax stamp for the can…
OK, so my can works great, but with subsonic ammo - about 925 FPS - I’m seeing the point of impact at 50 feet dropping 6 inches. Can’t get the C-More to adjust vertically, still figuring this one out.
Easiest thing to do right now is aim 6 inches high…works fine, but not what I wanted to see. Great package though.
About how many hours you got logged on that c-more?
So far - about 7 hours, and that was at half intensity. I find myself turning it off between target changes and reloads, an old preservation habit that’s hard to kill.

Dang, bro. Turn it on and leave it on… just to see what ya get… Haha. I’ll buy you more batteries.
(snicker) and I even have a spare set of 2032s in my shooting box. If I can get the elevation thing figured out, I’ll be shooting it a great deal later this week, I’ll have family in and everyone is begging for a club outing.
9 hours on the sight…my daughter helped me zero the C-More yesterday. I used to coach her in smallbore, so she was great in letting me step in to make adjustments between calling out the shots. Prolly going to get a “take no prisoners” rep in her sorority now.

That’s awesome man. It does my heart good to see fathers including their daughters in the shooting sports…especially Black Rifles.
I’m raising two girls myself. My oldest is only 6 and she already wants a pink Hello Kitty AR15. She had to settle for a customized Hello Kitty Daisy single pump last Christmas though. At 6 years old she’s become one hell of a shot with it and practices great safety discipline.
Way to go Dad!
That’s terrific. There’s a lot to do for girls in shooting sports. There’s the NRA 4-position smallbore program for kids 10-20, an awesome thing you should try to get her into in a few years. Once in high school they can join the NRA Foundation’s Y.E.S. program and represent their home town in a national youth 2nd Amendment program. There’s collegiate shooting where girls get all of the scholarship money via Title IX, too. And they make terrific shooters, too. My daughter is 20, fully qualified in rifle, pistol, and skeet. She got into the NRA program pretty late - 5 trips to the range and qualified for Expert, got her first offhand string for Distinguished Expert and then had to go out of town for school. She has about a year to go before she can take her Concealed Carry course, and I will keep my promise to buy her a Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry II like mine - she reminded me again yesterday!
And she’s decided she likes my 6540. She might have to go on the trust with her brother next year - and when I kick the bucket, they can have fun arguing over the cans!
LOL! That’s cool man. I know you’re a proud papa. I cant wait until my little ones are old enough to participate in more firearms activities…wait, I take that back. I can wait, times going by fast enough. My littlest just turned 1 year old two days ago, seems like we just brought her home…geez.
Anyhow, thanks for the info.
BTW, nice looking set up on the AR.
Happy New Year from South West Georgia!
Thread Jack over…lol!
