I work in a hospital and I am sick of COVID, sick of COVID patients, the whole nine yards. One year ago we had a lull, from April to about late July of 2021. Then the Delta shit started and morphed into the Omicron. I’m sick of it. Retirement is still 4+ years off but I swear to God I will walk away from the medical field as a worker and NEVER look back when the time comes.
The true believers will be fighting back.

My guess is that the CDC will not ask the DOJ to go to court over this. My data point is that the local NextDoor website hasn’t had any threads about how bad this is. There is always somebody on that website complaining about some thing. That they aren’t complaining about this means that it really doesn’t resonate with a very large part of the population.
Been at it for 32 years, a bit crisp around the edges. This COVID crap was one hell of a way to round out my career and is no doubt the biggest motivator to GTFO once finances are in the right spot (or right enough anyway). Done with it. Just biding my time. Will continue to perform my job thoroughly as I always have but once I’m able to I’m tossing that hot potato over my shoulder and someone better catch it!
Same here bruh, a lot has changed. Particularly the EHR, regs, and amount of isolation pts, there is just way too much to make it undesirable. Hospitals are in a pinch… public beware…

They have nothing to support the NEED for continuing the mask requirements, they just want to hold onto their power over people. This is maddening.

Seriously, the political miscalculation here is incredible. The mask mandate was about as popular as gas rationing or the 55mph national speed limit. A lot of people who were previously OK or better with the Biden regime are going to flip hard right over this.

I went to a third world country with a rifle to get away from the hysteria. Caught COVID there, and it was austere, for sure, but overall, it was a good break. Most everyone forgot about COVID in my home AO by the time I returned.
I’m much happier when I can dodge doing anything healthcare. That shit is toxic, and got way worse in 2020.
So, they way I read the data- and by looking at the proportion of tests taken and the number of postives- the vaccines don’t ‘work’. Now this I’m guessing is walk in cases, hospitalizations and deaths might not correlate to these numbers. But for the vast number of people, the vaccines don’t do anything.
Lot’s of potential issues with populations here not being representative- the above one about these probably being non-symptomatic or mild cases included.
As an aside, I thought that not getting an Omnicon specific variant of teh vaccine was a problem, but actually, Ba2 is about as close to you can get to a free, unscheduled, self-deploying vaccine- and anything that would stop that (i.e. if masks actually worked) is a bad idea.
Let the CDC know what you think of their continued and egregious bungling of this entire situation.
I let them know we are not subjects and there will be consequences for their incompetence.
