Has anybody used one? Looks like it solves the blast problem according to the video on YouTube.

Thing looks interesting till you see the weight, 3 oz heavier than a KX3. Looks like the brake shields from Weapon Outfitters.

Here’s a youtube video on it

I had a Ferfrans muzzle brake (minus CRD) and I’ve had shooters next to me saying that they can really feel the side blast coming out of it.

I believe there is already a thread on this but I’m having a tough time finding it. I remember seeing a spokesperson posting a few vids.

That guy is missing a few pouches. And maybe a patch.

That thread got locked.

Good grief, 11+oz for a muzzle device. Just get a damn claymore for 40$ and be done with it. I honestly have no idea why people keep coming up with these boat anchors. Defeats the whole purpose of running a small lightweight rifle.

Beyond retarded. At least the Pig is no longer the stupidest thing you can put on your barrel anymore.

No thanks. An 11oz muzzle device is just silly.

Yeah, a Troy Claymore or any type of levang comp would do a better job and also be cheaper. I think the problem is people always want more for their money. A device that compensates, acts as a muzzle brake, works as a flash hider, eliminates all muzzle rise because it adds the equivalent of 3 pounds to the end of the barrel, dices tomatoes, and makes espresso coffee is what really attracts the muzzle device connoisseur of today. After hitting the orange search button a few times and asking a few questions I ended up sticking with the good old A2 FH. It doesn’t have much side blast (I’ve never heard anyone complain) and it doesn’t weigh more than a can of Campbell’s Soup. When I feel like it’s a detriment to my shooting I might change it out. I feel like I have a long way to go before I get to that point though. A muzzle device won’t instantly make you a better shooter. The weight of this one might make you worse though.

Can this thing make sense for indoors? More noise forward than sideways perhaps?

TIA for any thoughts.

It doesn’t make any sense… period. The sheer weight of it makes it completely tardo and 100% mall ninja. The Claymore and Pig aready work perfectly so you won’t gain anything asides from weight with this boat anchor. Well, maybe if you run out of ammo you can throw it at someone lol.

I never understood if the point was that it directs it forward. why does it need to be quick detach? Really stupid.

My guess the QD aspect is to make it cool like your using a suppressor. Just your typical mall ninja crap. Might as well have made the qd cover mimic a silencer to futher make rednecks drool.

Makes life a little easier. I thought of this same concept before-- I think we all did. I see nothing wrong with it. My only problem is that other companies don’t have flash hiders and whatnot to screw onto their devices. If only ferfrans can make such things, then we’re going to be forced to be screwed onto their muzzle device- I mean, if you’re into that kind of thing.

Watching videos of the muzzle brake without the attachment, I notice that thing has major muzzle flash. Like a flamethrower coming out of the sides. I guess that’s why they have the attachment for CQ, you will burn yor buddy next to you.

If the “PIG” is for SBR’s will this work on 14.5+?

Yes of course it will. The Pig also works on non sbr’s just fine. There is nothing that says it’s mandatory to use a pig on only short barrels. The question is why would you. The whole idea of these is to direct the obsurdly loud blast/flash/fireball forward for cqb purposes and when shooting next to people. The Pig also increases reliability on excessively short barrels as well in some cases.

Now if you put 11+ oz on the very tip of the barrel with this, you may as well get the steel v7 receiver extension to counter out the weight.

maybe flash supression and weight aren’t an issue when you’re running a 7" sbr…

The brake shields from weapon outfitters seems like the best solution, still giving you options for suppressors if you so choose to get one. There certainly is quite a bit of hype over this new device though.
