A Federal Emergency Management Agency employee has been removed from her role after she advised her disaster relief team to avoid homes with signs supporting President Donald Trump while canvassing in Florida in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, the agency said Friday.
A FEMA spokesperson told CNN in a statement the agency is “deeply disturbed by this employee’s actions” and the incident is under investigation. The agency did not identify the employee.
“While we believe this is an isolated incident, we have taken measures to remove the employee from their role and are investigating the matter to prevent this from happening ever again. The employee who issued this guidance had no authority and was given no direction to tell teams to avoid these homes and we are reaching out to the people who may have not been reached as a result of this incident,” the spokesperson said. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8E5yh893ZCk
The only thing ‘deeply disturbing’ to lefties in charge of FEMA is that this behavior was reported in the media. Otherwise, it’s a cocktail hour chuckle among the bastards.
Numerous Sources report the Supervisor told them to skip the houses with Trump Signs in the Yard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCEomACutKQ
I really hope he’s hung from the yardarm.
She, it was a she. Marn’i Washington was sacked for telling disaster relief workers in Lake Placid, Fla., to “not go to homes with yard signs supporting President-elect Trump,” FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell said Saturday.
Looks like Governor DeSantis is on it. Hopefully he will call The Don, too, so he can break it off in FEMA. Every federal agency needs a thorough house cleaning and I hope DJT can get it done.
Remember, to FEMA the only thing they’re really there for is Continuity of Government. (Read: “be ready to sweep everything else aside and install their own dictatorship at first opportunity.”)
Gut FEMA like a fish and bring back old-school Civil Defense! Locals knew best what their communities needed and how to network with the population.
It’s kind of odd that Relief Workers don’t feel comfortable with Trump voters isn’t it?
Most of this is likely a misunderstanding of motives and a lack of communications, but some of it might be in attiutudes.
I would suggest. that as “Leaders”, perhaps the Bosses of this Organization should take it upon themselves to knock on those doors with Trump yard signs. Once you understand they aren’t going to feed you cookies full of poison and stuff you in the window seat, you might actually be able to do the job we are PAYING YOU to do.
But I believe this is more about race, that Lady don’t like White Folks and doesn’t want to provide them a service.
Did anyone see that video on X where Glenn Beck went to a FEMA relief station in NC after the floods? He interviewed the guy running it and he was as clueless as can be- your basic do-good government dipshit who couldn’t run a lemonade stand. If I can find it again I will post a link.
Washington, who directed volunteers to “avoid” Trump-supporting homes, told Daily Mail that FEMA is “lying” and placing the blame solely on her, despite her claims that this “was not isolated” and had also occurred in North Carolina.
FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell condemned Washington’s actions as a violation of the agency’s mission “to help people regardless of their political affiliation,” stating that FEMA had referred the matter to the Office of Special Counsel.
Meanwhile, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced a state investigation, calling it a “blatant weaponization of government by partisan activists.”
See my post from 3 days ago, they have her texts. This is not an accident or a misunderstanding. She is a racist and was trying to hurt Trump supporters.
Hmmm yes.
I think this all goes back to the issue of “These Folks Aint From Around Here.” and “It would take a combined Family IQ to actually be above room temp.” kind of thinking.
Everyone having preconcieved notions and all, if you haven’t figured it out yet,
Yes if you’re a Yankee, you’re still suspect in some parts of this Nation.
Sometimes and in some places, it will always be better if you consider the Messenger as much as the Message.
In other words set your ego aside and think for a second before you act when interacting with people.
“While the facts will continue to come out over the weeks and months, it is already clear that Defendant Washington conspired with senior FEMA officials, as well as those carrying out her orders, to violate the civil rights of Florida citizens,” reads the complaint.
The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in federal court in Fort Pierce, Fla., asks for unspecified damages and a declaration that the two FEMA officials unlawfully conspired to violate Floridians’ civil rights.
“It’s unacceptable for the federal government to discriminate against Floridians who voted for Trump, and especially egregious in the aftermath of a hurricane,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said in a statement.
