Price wise, that is about the going rate for that type of ammo.
For range/training use, it’s decent ammo, and should work fine in a 1/7 twist gun.
Thanks but I just checked with my local gun range and they will only let you shoot ammo that you by from there store, which I think is stupid. They sell American eagle. I have read good and bad things about AE. Will it be good enough for range use?

If its AE Tactical 5.56 then it is Federal XM193 anyway.

there’s a couple of reasons for this, none of which is helpful to the shooter. first is obviously profit. oh well, yeah it sucks but they gotta stay in business somehow…
the second is that they are able to control ammunition fired on their range. this has consequences far beyond what we might guess.

In any event, AE is good for range use. If it is AE Tactical (black box) it is XM193 anyway like someone above stated.
Federal American Eagle Tactical is XM193 and is good ammo.
Used to be a place around here that you had to shoot their ammo and you couldn’t pick up brass. The ammo they sold were reloads. Talk about making money.
