The price is high. Why? Because the price I paid was high. Federal is EXTREMELY proud of this round and charges accourdingly for it.
It is classified as one of the best defensive loads ever produced and apparently people are willing to pay for it.

I hear everything you’re saying… But just bringing it all down to a basic level… The 5.56 is does not have the capabilities of performing anything that should cost over $1 per round.
Understand that opinion. I have some special loaded ammo for NSW that is subsonic .223 and performs out to 200yds! Simply fantastic ammo that no one has ever seen or heard about. Cost is around $4 per round. :sarcastic:
Is it worth $4? Hard to say, but if I was wanting to put someone down (at distance) and not have anyone know, it is well worth the price paid.

Grant, is the LE223T3 the same load as the XM223SP1 62gr bonded soft point that I have seen floating around?
Not trying to hi-jack this thread but I just got bought a fair amount 62gr TBBC bullet that have been been machine pulled by a ATK sub contractor where I live. I’m going to go back tommorrow and see how many more I can get. I did not realize how rare they are:eek:
62 T3 is back in stock and we now have the 55gr (T1) as well!

I like that T1. It made perfect little mushrooms in my hill billy expansion tests. Looked like a 22 bullet with an afro on top of it.
