Yeah whats funny is Forest Cove apartments are right next to the Federal Prison in Atlanta. I worked that beat while I was in field training, it was the only two man car on evening watch.

Wondered why they used the HRT, since the Atlanta FBI office is equipped with one of the larger SWAT teams.

If I were Jansen’s family (especially the daughter), I’d be very cautious from now on. Start learning to shoot and carry weapons from now on.

I think since the BGs crossed state lines it became a Federal offense.

And like Sam said, I’d start perusing the training course announcements, but that’s just me.

Exactly. Even the enhanced teams only train one day a week. Full time team > part time. In an emergency the division team will get the nod but if there Is time and HRT is available it’s only logical. And that’s for non-VIP’s as well. Remember the kid held in the bunker in Alabama?

There may be a couple of hold outs with 1911’s but they do carry G22’s.

The HRT also rescued some prisoners at the Federal Pen in Atlanta (hmmm, I see a pattern here, they like to play in Atlanta, maybe it’s the great food here) many many years ago when there was a riot at the big house.

Yeah, great assault/rescue on the kid,
and they have done a ton of call outs and stands offs.

but I cannot think of another guy taken hostage for a political/terrorist like motive like this. Pretty cool.
