are there “special” mounts that attach directly to the tube, or am I looking at putting a rail piece on the tube and just attaching whatever sling mount I want? Ideas?
Yep…special sling mounts that attach directly to the tube (either VTAC or Troy) are out there.
Troy is making one for their rig.

I have a 13" Troy TRX Extreme rail and just put one of these mounts on. I like it.
The LPSM was my initial plan, but when the RSA comes out I’ll probably just lemming myself over to the most MagPul heavy parts list imaginable.
