What’s your favorite 124gr 9mm NATO ball ammo? (not JHP) Commercially loaded, of course.
[And yes, we know reloading is the best].

Winchester Q4318… It’s actually my favorite handgun round because it runs best in my race gun and doesn’t require me to handload to feed the beast.
Clean and cheap never hurts.
GECO when I can find it. Speer Lawman is also very good in my experience. Federal 124gr isn’t bad either.
I do enjoy my Dillon XL650 though… churns out better 9mm blasting ammo than I can buy for blasting ammo prices.
i’ve shot Federal, IMI, Fiocchi, Aguila, WWB, S&B… and they’ve all worked perfectly
Isn’t NATO 9mm FMJ actually considered +P? I’d like to know which commercial 124gr FMJ is loaded to those pressures.
I usually get the Winchester 9mm NATO packs when I can find them for a good price. I’ve been very happy with the performance and accuracy. (Just range / training ammo.)
Winchester Q4318.
That RWS Geco stuff is very good. If you get the product with the bimetal case it can be an issue at some indoor ranges though (or some outdoor in fire areas at those times)
Lawman is outstanding ammo with bonus points for being manufactured in Idaho, USA.
But how many regularly available commercial loads are explicitly “NATO”?
This. Both VP9’s really like this stuff.
Chiming in for GECO. To me, just me, that’s the gold standard. Plus Winchester.
Those are the only two I would go out of my way for. I keep it as putting away ammo. I dont chase the PCC dragon.
I like Geco but also take POU, Winchester or Aguila. All 124 grain since I shoot 124gr HST.
those brands mainly due to Price.
What do you consider a good price for it? The local chain stores seem to generally sell it for $13-15 / box of 50, which is way too much for training ammo. I’d like to pick some up occasionally for training with my M9, but I don’t really need a case of it.
Yeah, from the responses, I think most people thought he was just asking about any brand of 124 gr FMJ. As someone mentioned above, I think NATO ball ammo corresponds to 124 gr +P, but I don’t know much about the specs. I do know that we’ve been shooting all Winchester at the qualification ranges that I’ve been to in the past year.
Thanks…PSA is offering Winchester 124gr NATO for .20 a round, free shipping, by the way.
The Winchester Q4318 I mentioned is NATO loaded to +P pressures. That said, the damned finest 9mm I have encountered.
Ulyanovsk and Yavex.
Both have shot very well and super clean for me.
Geco runs great but best out of my Glocks is S&B in bulk from Ammo to go.
I don’t know that I have a preference. I will say I took Geco to a two day class and it ran great.
I buy ammo by the case from Target Sports USA. Good pricing and free delivery on case purchases.
Speer is my favorite when available for a good price: http://www.sgammo.com/product/speer/1000-round-case-9mm-luger-speer-lawman-124-grain-tmj-ammo-53616-or-53651
Winchester: http://www.sgammo.com/product/winchester/1000-rounds-9mm-nato-124-grain-winchester-mil-spec-ammo-q4318
I also like MEN from Germany: http://www.sgammo.com/product/surplus/1000-round-case-9mm-nato-124-grain-fmj-ammo-made-men-germany-men9b
Geco 124gr Hungarian. Not fond of the magnetic hassle. Speer 124 at the right price.
