Thirty-one House Democrats have proposed legislation that would prevent people from buying ammunition online, and would instead require all purchases to be made in person — a change they admit is aimed at preventing people from buying “unlimited” ammunition over the Internet.
The Stop Online Ammunition Sales Act, from freshman Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-N.J.), would also require all ammo dealers to be licensed by the government, and require bulk ammo purchases to be reported to the government.
A NJ Democrat proposing far ranging limits on our rights. Gee it’s almost been 30 years exactly since we’ve seen that last.
I hope all the young people understand this is EXACTLY how things were after the 1968 Gun Control Act. You had to buy your ammo “in person” and the dealer had a log book for ammo just like for guns. It was that way until 1986 with the passage of FOPA 86. FOPA wasn’t just a ban on domestic machine guns, it stripped away a lot of the original GCA.
But because we never successfully removed the “sporter clause” they have all they need to put everything back incrementally. If we are ever lucky enough to have the majority of Congress and a pro gun President again, we need to shitcan the “sporter clause.”
Instead we screw around with gay marriage issues, trying to figure out how to give illegals amnesty without calling it amnesty, abortion issues and a bunch of other stupid crap.
Don’t think this can’t happen, it already was the law from 1968 to 1986. And if you think Wal Mart get’s cleaned out NOW, wait until they and the 150% markup gun shops are the ONLY place you can buy ammo from.
Most mass shootings end before the first box of ammo- how exactly does ‘mass ammo’ purchases stop this?
“Why do you need so much ammo?”- well, I can tell you that I don’t need it for a mass shooting. It’s like the tax on bullets- as if gang bangers are going to the range and doing mag dumps.

When the Aurora shooter had a 6000 rounds of ammo and people would gasp, I commented that when I have 6000 rounds, I consider myself almost out of ammo. At least the Aurora shooter didn’t have a couple of boxes of 22lr to help pad the numbers. 5000rounds of 22lr is smaller than a case of Coke. I always ask non-gun people when this comes up how much space 6000 rounds (not frickn bullets) would take? You get everything from a fridge to a room when the answer is closer to a cooler or storage bin. The article about his 6000 rounds all center on it’s weight- 170ish pounds, but that don’t mention that it would fit in a Prius trunk.
Considering that the ammo isn’t that bulky, Holmes didn’t bring it with him. He shot 76 times with 224 rounds unfired. So for a box and half of ammo spent, they think that going after bulk purchasers is going to change anything is crazy.

I’m not kidding. I was asked to leave classrooms in college because i used facts about guns and weapons in general and it didn’t follow narrative that the bitch running the class was spouting.

I got the option to rewrite the paper so I rewrote it according to what the “Professor” wanted to hear and got a A! I ****ing hated college.
I’ve done it the other way too. Go full Progressive stupidity. Wrote a paper that was group rated and graded where there should be a ‘discrimination index’ tied to all the usual things- family wealth, sexual orientation, race yada, yada- all to get to a number that could be compared and people compensated. The proff was actually lefty-libertarian and actually found it funny.
There is a difference between liberals and progressives. Liberals are all but dead, but we call Progressives with the name liberal. Alan Deshowitz is an example of a liberal in actuality.
