Hopefully this pic is clear enough to show that 1 extractor spring is slightly smaller than the other. Is that difference enough to cause FTE issues? I had a few FTE this weekend using the extractor with the smaller spring and I can’t help but wonder if that small difference could be the culprit. I’m also thinking the BCM extractor spring upgrade kit woudn’t hurt to try.
The more “compressed” looking spring could very well be the culprit. Doesn’t look like it there’s enough spring tension there to properly extract. Wouldn’t hurt to add the BCM extractor spring kit. Spend a few bucks and see if it works for you. Did you swap out the springs to see if it fixed the problem?

Could be the spring or it could be an out of spec extractor pocket. I have several of them in my box o’shame that I show to students. They didn’t come from No Name Arms Inc.
Looking at the pic again, it appears the short spring is flush with the spring post, which coupled with an out of spec extractor is likely the cause (if the extractor is indeed out of spec). Does the groove in the extractor showing excessive wear or look abnormal compared to the good extractor?
Nothing else looks abnormal to me. The entire bcg only has a few hundreds rounds on it.

In order to check the pocket, the spring needs to come out. Before you expend a ton of energy, I would simply get a new spring and insert and replace it. If that doesn’t work, then go to plan B.
I just ordered the BCM extractor upgrade kit. Hopefully that does the trick.

I just recently (a couple weeks ago) installed a BCM upgrade kit. The insert was black.

Just did the BCM extractor upgrade. holding down the extractor to get the pin in is a lot more challenging with the bigger spring!
Not sure when I’ll get to the range next to test it and see if that did the trick.
