Sweet, is it a 1/3 cowitness with the lever?
What did OP do to it to call it an OPMOD?

Don’t quote me on this but I think this model is an exclusive to Optics Planet. Hence the OP in OPMOD. I thought I just read that somewhere on the ‘interwebs’. 
I just bought an EXPS2-0 on Ebay through OP. Can’t wait to get it next week.
Is that OPMOD thing something you can peel off because it really looks…bad. I suppose it doesn’t effect the function at all though. Let us know how it shoots. I am on the fence between one of these and the standard XPS on a Larue rail.

Nope… EXPS2. It just doesn’t have the night vision like what the EXPS3 has. The EXPS2 has the QD mount and side mounted adjustment buttons.
EXPS2 - no night vision compatible.
EXPS3 - night vision compatible.
Both have QD mounts and side adjustment buttons.
I don’t know, don’t really care what is says on the side, well as long as it doesn’t say ‘I Suck Dick’. And no it doesn’t effect function.
It is 1/3 co-witness, not sure if I like that, a little higher than I like. Maybe I’ll get use to it.
I believe Optics Planet is the only place offering the EXPS2 models. It’s a special they have with EOTech.

I realize this is a naive question regarding optics but it is something I have never gotten a straight answer about.
I have an XPS2-0 I used the thumb screw to mount it and I have an absolute co-witness with my BUIS.
What is the draw/desire to have a riser on your optic? Is it purely for the 1/3 co-witness or does it offer some other advantage to the end user?
I’m sure this has been covered elsewhere, but…
What kind of battery life are folks getting out of the XPS’s?
EoTech says 600 hrs…
Primary purpose for the XPS2 would be for a 1/3 co-witness. For some of the longer models, I believe the riser also allowed the longer optic to clear some handguards for farther forward mounting.
Also, some of the risers offer quick-detach levers.
I tested my XPS3-2 and the 600 hours was accurate. I figured that if I turned mine on every day with the 8 hour shut off, it should last 75 straight days (600 Hours divided by 8 Hours = 75 Days.). It lasted over 75 days and the reticle wasn’t even flashing yet.
One of the things I’m most anxious to know is how the EXPS integrated mount holds a zero vs a XPS on a Larue riser. I had one of the 553’s and in addition to not holding a zero, the ARMs mounts didn’t mate with my LMT rail very nicely.
At the end of the day, the Larue mounts have always treated me right but I do like buttons on the side considering I want to run a magnifier…
