Law Enforcement Only[/CENTER]

I dont see how you can teach EP in one class on one day

You can’t. Especially when your task list is “Personal Protection Overview, Case Studies – Describing the Threat, Protective Detail Operations, Formations, Physical Security & Access Control, Liability - Legal Standing in the Region, Practical Scenarios, and more”.

If the class is restricted to “LEO only”. Wouldn’t this ad be more correctly moved to the LEO only restricted forum then?

The average EP courses seem to run about 5 to 10 days in length. Most law enforcement officers we work alongside in the DC area don’t have the money or time to devote to one of these lengthy courses. Our goal is to increase the skill sets of these officers by providing the finest training from the most skilled instructors we have ever worked with in this complicated field. It will be an extremely intensive day of training and obviously the instructors will be unable to go into detail about every aspect that is relevant to personal protection. This is the first of a series of one day courses we will host over the upcoming year.

In the future we hope to offer EP classes for non-law enforcement professionals. As for this training, it is only open to current law enforcement officers, and we will look into moving this posting into the LEO restricted forum.

I agree, you can’t do it in a day and be any good at it.

That should be indicative of something, don’t you think? And how can a one-day, crash course that will only touch on a handful of topics possibly be worth $650? That’s a higher daily rate than going to Kobetz’s EPI in Berryville, VA. And EPI includes lodging and chow. Seriously, you need to review your business model and target market. The Delta Force and Navy SEAL Teams ambiance isn’t worth the coin.

Seriously???

2 posts and they’re both to advertise for your company?

Very suspect IMO

Gentlemen:

I’ve taken note of your concerns and I’m currently consulting with the staff and other moderators to try and figure out what (if any) action is appropriate here. Having a wide variety of training advertised on M4C is, ceteris paribus, a good thing…but at the same time I think it’s prudent to take a hard look at offerings that raise the kinds of questions you all have brought up.

I’m temporarily locking this thread until a decision is made. Feel free to IM me, or if my inbox floods e-mail me with any concerns, questions, or issues you may have in the meantime.

IMHO a One {1} Day class is excessively insufficient that I could not fathom a reason, especially not a paid class a one day info session for free to garner interest or help the ‘community’ fine.

There are reason why certain unit and agencies have a month or more dedicated to this.

A TWO week (14 training day) class just scratches the surface of that is being described by the poster.
