Excessive brass on bolt face

Purchased a .308 upper (new) that has been test fired from the factory. The bolt face has so much brass that I can actually read the headstamp of the cartridge used. This is my first .308 AR and I’m not sure if this is normal. It seems like a sign of over-pressure to me, as it was not tested with a proof round. Anyone with more experience on this want to chime in? Mainly concerned if the rifle is safe to fire or not.
