Ever see this ammo?

I just got a bunch of boxes of 9mm ammo from my uncle and I have no idea what they are aside from being 9mm. I asked him about it but he really doesn’t know anything about them either. Any information about it would be much appreciated, especially as to whether it is safe/corrosive.

Good news…I know what it is.

Bad news…

It’s Egyptian surplus.

Nasty, corrosive, borderline unsafe. I’d personally not shoot it.

Sorry man.

.

Anything with that kind of writing on it is probably an IED of some type…be careful, Man!

.

Thanks for the quick responses, I had kinda prepared for the worst so it’s not that upsetting news, besides I didn’t pay for any of it. Now I just gotta figure out what to do with over a thousand rounds of corrosive ammo. Maybe i’ll have to torture test my XD with it.

It’s not uncommon to get split cases with that crap…possibly under loaded, possibly over loaded…

There’s a reason the Egyptians surplused it…

Be really careful if you are going to shoot it.

If you have ALOT of time, pull it all down and use the powder and bullets in newer primed cases. Work up a load using that powder and use a reliable powder dispenser.

Pat

Split it with some reloaders and let each guy keep whatever he pulls apart for components.

DO NOT SHOOT THIS AMMO! We had it in Iraq and it damaged several weapons as did the 7.62x39 ammo. Take it somewhere and dispose of it.

That seems like a good idea but I don’t have any reloading equipment yet or any experience with reloading. So these might have to sit around for a while until I can set up shop.

I remember that stuff it stunk when I shot it and did not function in my weapon I got rid of it.Run away
