When I was in the market for a new knife, I really didnt know where to start, I carried (and still do) a CRKT Ignitor…not exactly top of the line, or close to it, So when I went looking for a fixed blade and stumbled upon ESEE knives, and read the great reviews, I took my chances…And wow, talk about some girth in a little package! Couldnt be any happier than with my ESEE 3
I have what’s called a RAT RC-3, but it’s the same thing, from before they changed their name. Definitely my favorite knife, a great tool. I wish they made flipper-type folders as well, I’d love a quality folding knife.
esee makes a great product and I consider them one of the better knife choices out there in the mass produced arena. I have a couple myself… my wife has a pink izula for her saddlebag. Good steel, practical designs and flat grind edges.
If you love your esee, wait until you experience a Fallkniven though.
Very good knife, especially for the money. A lot of people dont like the1095 steel because its not one of the new super steels. 1095 is one of my favorites, sharpens easy and gets shaving sharp.
I have an ESEE 3 a 4 a 6 and an IZULA. They are awesome knives! They hold an edge like no other. They have the best warranty in the business. No questions asked.
I have purchased mine from The Knife Connection and GP Knives. The Knife Connection carries custom factory blades and scales not available anywhere else.
I have an ESEE-3P-DT and a ESEE-6P-CP, I cannot say enough good things about these blades. For the price (IMHO) they are one of the best blades on the market today.
the ‘RAT-#’ are made by randall on a license, whereas the ‘RC-#’ are made by what used to be RAT (now ESEE). there’s a difference there, however slight.
I like the look of the ESEE, and I’ve never heard anything negative about them.I opted for a Winker, should be here in a couple of weeks. It’s the same “style” of knife. Nice pick BTW.
If you do an Ebay search for RAT folding knives you will find several choices of suppliers. I have 2 Model 1 Rat folders, 1 OD scales partial serrated and 1 tan plain edge tan scales, both AUS 8, ambi thumb studs, 4 position pocket clip option, 3&3/8" blade length. The pocket clip screws will loosten up after some use, get a#6 torx bit to tighten them up. Chapman Mfgr. in Durham Ct has a nice torx kit w/ ratchet for $18. btw.
