Swalwell has now been accused by multiple women of sexual assault; at least two others claim he harrassed them with unwanted come-ons and explicit photos. He faces criminal investigations into separate rape accusations in Manhattan and Los Angeles, and the Department of Justice also opened an investigation; he has denied all allegations of assault, though he has acknowledged “personal failings.” He withdrew from the governor’s race and resigned from Congress before his colleagues moved to expel him.

A former staffer of Rep. Eric Swalwell, a leading Democratic candidate for California governor, says that the congressman raped her when she was heavily intoxicated and left her bruised and bleeding, an allegation Swalwell strongly denies.

“I was pushing him off of me, saying no,” the woman told CNN of the incident, which she said happened in 2024 after she had stopped working in Swalwell’s office. “He didn’t stop.”

She said it was the second time Swalwell had nonconsensual sexual contact with her while she was drunk.

The FBI on Thursday seized electric devices belonging to former Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell in recent days as part of a federal criminal investigation into alleged sexual misconduct.

Swalwell, who resigned from Congress in April, was confronted by FBI agents with a search warrant after he arrived at San Francisco Airport on Saturday, the Daily Mail reported.

According to the report, FBI agents also executed search warrants at Swalwell’s residence in Washington, DC, on Sunday. Swalwell represented districts in the Bay Area from 2013 until his resignation.

Unnamed sources told CBS and CNN that the searches were tied to the accusations against Swalwell. The allegations from multiple women included rape and unsolicited explicit messages and nude photograhs.

Yea I saw this today,pretty serious stuff getting a warrant to take electronic devices,not a easy thing I heard. Time will tell but yea I will be surprised if he gets his hand slapped. Hope for much more but we will see.

We Just Learned What Was Behind the FBI Warrant for Eric Swalwell – It’s Not Looking Good for Him – RedState

We’re now learning more about the search warrant behind those seizures, and there’s one detail in particular that is raising some very uncomfortable questions for him.

The Swalwell search warrant was apparently issued under 18 U.S.C. § 242, a federal civil-rights statute that applies when someone uses their governmental authority to deprive another person of rights provided to them either through the Constitution or by federal law.

That statute is often used against law-enforcement officers who are accused of abusing their authority. For example, the Standard points out, the officers involved in George Floyd’s death were charged under that same statute, which is not strictly limited to police.

The Standard also referred to the case of former Waterbury, Connecticut, Mayor Philip Giordano, who was convicted under the §242 statute back in 2003 for using the power of his office – and his connections to police – to intimidate two girls he had sexually abused into not ratting him out.

It’s important to note here that authorities have not accused Swalwell of doing anything similar, nor does the reference to the statute on the warrant indicate that he committed a similar crime.

Nonetheless, it’s an interesting development.

Eric Swalwell’s behalf as former GOP House Speaker Kevin McCarthy tried to force the California Democrat off the powerful House Intelligence Committee over his relationship with suspected Chinese intelligence operative Christine “Fang Fang” Fang.

Now, newly declassified FBI records and a raid on his home are casting fresh light on Swalwell’s relationship with Fang that Democrats denied and previously argued did not justify McCarthy’s actions.

Meanwhile, FBI agents seized Swalwell’s electronic devices at San Francisco International Airport on Saturday night, while his Washington, D.C., residence was subsequently searched the following day, as part of a probe into sexual misconduct.

The newly declassified files show for the first time publicly that the FBI’s concerns about Swalwell went beyond just the fact he had a romantic relationship with Fang, which Swalwell admitted to in the interviews uncovered in the file. The declassified documents also showed agents had launched a full investigation tied to Fang examining possible bribery, foreign campaign contributions and efforts to trade access to Swalwell and congressional internships for political donations.

Pelosi and McCarthy later received a classified FBI briefing on the matter in December 2020. McCarthy emerged from the briefing saying Swalwell “should not be on Intel,” while Pelosi continued to back the California Democrat, who was later reappointed to the Intelligence Committee in March 2021.

“The knowledge that I have of what transpired and the actions that he has done and the behavior, especially when he’s gone to other countries, I would be very leery of him in any position of that can have sensitive information,” McCarthy previously told Fox News Digital earlier this year. “The recklessness in which he lived his life, the reports that have come back, I think it would be hard for him to ever even be considered as a governor candidate, period.”

So there would appear to be some rather serious dirt out there.
