I’m not sure how this slipped by me.

Eric Clanton, a former teacher at Diablo Valley College, was arrested by Berkeley police on Wednesday on suspicion of three counts of assault with a deadly weapon identified as a U-lock bike lock, and one of those assaults is alleged to have caused a significant injury.

According to Alameda County Superior Court records, Clanton entered a “no contest” plea Wednesday to one misdemeanor battery charge. The felony charges against him were dismissed, and an allegation that he had caused serious bodily injury was stricken. A misdemeanor charge that Clanton wore a mask during the commission of the crime also was dropped.

Police said, previously, that Clanton attacked at least three people with a metal U-lock during the April 15 rally in and around Civic Center Park. Court papers later revealed that Clanton struck at least seven people in the head, according to authorities.

This is just a travesty of justice

Saw this earlier. Honestly expected nothing more. The justice system is a farce, but every now and then we do get a correct decision.

Three counts of assault with a deadly weapon gets you three years probation,…
Why do I assume that it wouldn’t have turned out that way if his political leanings were toward the right?

Berkeley has bias. Never assume otherwise. I wouldn’t go there for anything.

Ohhhh, there are all sorts of things Id go there for, but I guarantee they wouldnt drop my charges.

Nobody wants to catch fleas at the People’s Park?

That gave me a good chuckle. If it were any of us they’d lock the door, throw away the key, and build the jail over top of us.

Antifa is claiming this guy got cut a break for talking to the FBI.
It would appear he’s no longer welcome.

Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn also cooperated with authorities in the end but I don’t think that should have bought them any consideration at all, let alone the lives they were rewarded with. I think they both should have been executed for treason and waging war on the United States.
