Ergo Overmolded Sure Grip Durability Issues?

Are these grips solid and G2G for a working gun? Anyone have any trouble out of them breaking, ect? I read a couple of threads on TOS that have me questioning the purchase of one. I like the way they feel, but how would it hold up to being banged around (Iraq or a tactical class or anything in between)?

Experiences/thoughts?

i havent been too hard on mine and havent had it too long…

but it seems strong/solid.

the only issue ive had is with the compartment cap.it likes to work its way out when shooting.

im sure there an easy fix for that, but i havent bothered with it yet.

I have one mounted on my 50 beo which has been on several float trips with no issues.

Also have one on one of my 6.5 grendels which has seen several years of caribou hunting with no issues.

However, I do take care of my weapons out in the field and don’t poke, hammer or pry things with them.

I too like how the grip fits my hand.

Oh yea, throw the bottom cap away it is a PITA.

did you replace it with something or just leave it bare?

Just left the hole bare.

How does it compare with the Hogue Overmold in you’re opinion for ergonomics (assume med/large hands) and durability?

I’m not a fan of the Ergo, and I’ve tried a lot of grips, but it is head and shoulders above the “one size fits none” Hogue.

I have big mitts. The ERGO just feels the best and puts my trigger finger where it needs to be on a standard curved trigger. I have one gun with a CM flat trigger and the ergo moves my hand to far back to where it felt like I was streaching for the trigger. I went with the Magpul with standard back strap on that rifle. Althought the Magpul feels short in my hand. Kinda like a 1911 without a mag well does.

One of my RRA’s came with a Hogue. I didn’t like it. To thin on top and feels more like the A2 where it places my finger on the trigger… yuck.

So basically the Hogue can be summed up as just an A2 with a soft grippy texture and finger grooves?

I have the Ergo overmolded grip on all my AR’s, even my AR10. I just like the way they fit my hand. I have had no durability issues.

yeah,i failed to mention it before…

but i love the fit/feel.

probably my favorite grip ive ever owned(on anything),in that regard.
