I’ve got an EoTech XPS 2-0 and have mounted it directly to my flat top.
A friend tells me that it could fall off with heavy use and I should get a mount. Is that true?
He recommends the American Defense mount.
I don’t need a QD style.
What does everyone else use?
It would screw to a mount the same way it attaches to the flat top. Even if this were true (and it is not), I don’t see how a mount would change anything but add another point of failure (though I can’t imagine a LaRue or ADM mount failing either). I’m not terribly concerned about my EOTech falling off my upper unless I start using it as a crowbar, and I’m pretty sure that with the widespread use of the EOTech by the US military, if this were a common problem we’d have heard about it by now.
