It seems as if this holographic sight, the Eotech XPS 2.0, is sold out almost everywhere! When was this sight released? I see some of our usual go to guys, GandRTactical don’t offer this sight, as well as Rainier Arms, and others…

it was released in june of 09’ never caught up with the demand. it is 1 of the hottest selling red dots going

I got mine from Larue back in December and received a $50 rebate from Eotech.
Has anyone felt that the reticle seems to be a little blurry on these? After I first took mine out of the box, it appeared to be a little blurry, or just not very sharp. I had an aimpoint ml3 before this, and although it is just one dot, it did appear to be very clear. What’s your experience? I have not had an eotech before so I don’t really have a background with these. Thanks
It can seem a little fuzzy depending on the brightness setting you have it on. If you stick a magnifier behind it, it looks sharp. Which makes me think it could be my eyes but I have perfect vision.
Yep, just did comparisons looking through it with and without the magnifier, it does look much sharper through the magnifier.
I thought that as well, the key is not to focus on the reticle, look through it if that makes sense. Concintrate on the the target and obviously with both eyes open. It will be grainy other wise, it takes alittle getting used to but I love mine. I bought mine through macknlou on ebay they’re great to deal with and have great prices.
If you ever get a chance to look at an eotech reticle through a magnifier, you’ll understand why it projects that many small dots into such a small circle.
When viewed magnified, the image is crisp and clear, unmagnified tends to look a little “pixelated” but is not a defect.
At this time my dept doesn’t allow patrol to have any magnification, so I guess I will just deal with it. It’s not really that bad, and I keep it turned down a little low on the brightness scale
like the man said turning down the brightness helps alot with the pixels. Also the recticle looks better with glasses than contacts. but both still work well with the eo-thing.
Are you XPS users using an aftermarket mount on yours? I had a ML3 in a LaRue Cantilever mount and it sat quite a bit higher than the XPS. When I sighted in the Aimpoint with a Troy rear fold down, the dot was a little bit above the front sight. With the Eotech, the dot sits in the middle of the front sight post. I’m leaning toward a LaRue mount to fix this. Any other ideas?
I just ordered a ADM eotech riser for that exact same reason. From what I could find the Larue or the ADM are both great mounts and will serve the user well. The ADM is a bit lower than the Larue, but I just needed a slight bump in height.

I actually picked the xps2 because it was less blurry for me then the aimpoints and the Tripower that I mounted. Are you looking past the reticle, or at the reticle?
At the time I posted this I was giving my first impressions after looking at the reticle. I had not taken it out yet, but was surprised at pixelation (if that’s a word) after first looking at it in my work armory

This is my first red dot/holo optic, and I was pretty shocked at how natural it felt when I finally got it zeroed and was able to shoot quickly and across multiple targets. I had never shot with both eyes open before, and I found myself naturally opening my left eye while shooting.
Once I got the reticle adjusted to my liking for the winter conditions, I noticed no flair, and no blurs.

Get the LaRue Eotech QD riser mount for it. It will give you the same lower 1/3 co-witness that you are used to with the Aimpoint/LaRue mount combo. I have been running the LaRue Eotech riser mount for 5+ years now, and it is rock solid.
