I’m going to withhold judgement but I must admit this does look rather interesting. This checks so many blocks for me at least. Almost as compact as a prism, adjustable power unlike the ACOG, the gold standard of prisms. Adjustable diopter that we all wanted an ACOG to have but can’t. A micro MPVO without the weight penalties of an LPVO or an MPVO.
I realize that this isn’t in FFP, for those that can’t get past that well this obviously isn’t for you or whom it was made for. If the optic height isn’t assaulter enough, well it can use the higher plane mini ACOG mounts so there’s that going for it at least. Eye relief is dependent on how far back you go but is 2.5" at 3rd power and 2.3" for 9th power.
Looking forward to anyone with hands-on that isn’t a guntuber so we’ll all know that the review was legit.
So it’s a shorter version of the same 3-9x scopes that have existed forever? Yeah, no, not seeing this as a replacement for Red dots, with or without magnifiers. If anything, this is just another oddly designed prism or LPVO variant that some folks might rave about. Chances are, it’ll be forgotten in 6 months to a year.
Eotech haters said that about the first Eotechs. Now look where we are.
Even after the lawsuit, same angry users people and same government who sued afterwards bought more.
Shooters get older, no longer able to hump all day with anything on their rifles or drive a bullet into a fly at 100 yards with just irons, lightweight and magnified is the thing to do. I see it on rifles of the old, I see it argued about weight chasers on other boards.
I fall into the category of 1x isn’t sufficient anymore. 56, bi-focals, etc…
That and 1-6 is the sweet spot for me, more than that and the eyebox gets wonky.
I like the NXS 2.5-10 on my 18" rifle and ran it on the 14.5" for a bit.
2.5 on the low end worked well for me.
It’s just bigger than I want so am back to just a red dot on it.
I think its interesting. Id much prefer ffp and a mil based xmas tree reticle at that mag range. Lack of parallax is acceptable IMO, but id want to push it to 700 and that reticle sucks.
Glass quality will be a factor too, but should be decent.
No one (except Trijicon, but heard the credo sucks), still, has made a lightweight scope with FFP and xmas tree reticle in lower mag ranges (top end 9-15x or so).
