Been using an EOTECH 557 for a bit, just about to pull the trigger on a 3x (G23.FTS) magnifier with a flip to the side mount…
Any one have any thoughts on the quality of this magnifier? I’m interested in shooting 3 gun in the near future, so runnin’ and gunnin’ will be the order of business for this piece of equipment.
go with the aimpoint 3x magnifer and larue mt I started with eotec mag and samson mt that came with it, mag was so big around it hit top of folding buis ,mt would not hold magnifer centered of optic every time I fliped it to side and back I had to bump it with my hand to re-center the mag with optic If i would have kept that set up I would have to bought a different low profile bUIS another 145.00 re sight the irons and still be stuck with a shitty mounting system–hope this personal exp will help you not to make the same mistakes
When you flip the magnifier to the locked possition it is about 1 mm OFF center of the EOTech sight window. NO BIG DEAL. It is a well built unit and works well. Front sight post diappears and looks cool too.[/IMG]
Ya, 1mm isn’t going to bother me one bit. And it does look good.
With the 3x flipped and locked, how do you feel about running and allowing the rifle to bounce a bit? I know the flip is fast when activated, so not concerned about transition from actively using the 3x and needing a CQB sight, but if your next engagement requires some running and such, I don’t want to feel like I should flip the 3x back in line for movement…doubt thats the way it’s designed, but doubt remains.
IMHO I have had the EOtech magnifier and i switched to the Aimpoint magnifier because I think it has better glass, less of the eyebox problem and slightly longer eye relief.
