what is the diff. in these 2 magnifiers. i found the gen 1 online as cheap as 459and the gen II is about 500 or more just wondering am i going wrong with the gen 1 or should i spend another 50 and get a gen 2
Are you talking Eotech magnifiers? Your question isn’t specific. AFAIK, the Gen. demarcation is usually for the magnifiers, not the optics.

AFAIK, you’re not going to see a huge difference between Gen. 1 and 2. One is just the newer model. Eotech has continued to improve the mounting system, but that’s really it. They’re both 3x with essentially the same form factor and internals. A quick check of specs should tell you more.
However, Eotech’s new G33 (which I guess you could call the Gen. 3) that’s coming out later this spring/summer has an adjustable diopter (which is a really nice feature/improvement), smaller form factor, newer mount and reduced weight. That’s a much more noticeable improvement, but with it will also come a higher price.
