Just picked up my new XPS2-0 to go on top of my new DD rifle.
Should i put it on a Larue mount/riser? or mount it on the rail?

Yes, put it on a Larue riser. It’s my opinion, and that of most shooters I know, that you want your irons in the lower 1/3 of a 1x red dot.

I like the lower 1/3 cowitness, and the repeatability of the LT riser. Whatever you do, be sure to loctite the Eotech on to the rail.
Another vote FOR the LaRue riser QD mount here.
To follow along, I would certainly recommend the Larue.
It gives you a lower 1/3 (a very low 1/3) co-witness, clearing the way to running solid rear irons, and still have a clear sight picture (if you run like that), and it gives you a quick detach capability, which, regardless of your use, is always nice to have, as it plays into the ‘realistic worst case scenario’ mindset.
Also, in the event you go with the EXPS, or another EOTech that has a built in lower 1/3 offset in the mount, selling a Larue mount will always get you a significant amount of the money you put into it, back.
Bear in mind that others have had great experiences with ADM’s qd riser mount as well, but I can’t comment on that, as I haven’t used one. This thread has more info on it…
My work rifle is a Colt 14.5 with a Eotech 552. Irons are a standard front sight post up front and a Matech adjustable for the rear. I transitioned to this rifle from an AUG-P and had carried a UMP-40 before that so I am used to a more “heads-up” shooting/sighting position. Because of this I found the Eotech to be way too low for me. A couple of months back I picked up a LaRue Eotech riser and life has been so much better since. I have now pushed the Eotech forward, with the “glass” sitting just behind the delta ring, I find this gives me a better view around my target area without sucking me into the view finder like running it back, just in front of the Matech as it was issued.

Since my primary optic is an EOtech and my secondary irons are folding, I decided to forgo using a riser. If I need the backups, I’ll flip them up and toss the red dot when I get a free moment.
I prefer the slightly higher position offered by the riser- helps unclutter the reticule window.
If you are absolutely unwilling to shell out the money for the LaRue, I think YHM or MI makes a cheap riser mount.
Why go to all the trouble and just buy the EXPS2 ? Not really that much of a price difference between the two(XPS-EXPS).
So what’s the height over bore while on the riser?
Going against the grain as well, a vote against the riser. I don’t prefer the lower-third co-witness, so I find the riser unnecessary.
