I’m setting a patrol carbine and I’ve been pulling my hair out looking at different optics. I think I’ve finally settled on EOTech, even though I know the battery life isn’t up to the Aimpoints.
I’m very interested in the 556 sight. What exactly are the differences between it and the 553 other than the mount and the placement of the controls? Can I use a LaRue mount with it or do I need to use what it comes with? What kind of battery life does it get?
Other than battery life and sidemounted controls, does the 556 offer anything that the 551 does not?
