I can’t decide which to put on my AR15? This may be my patrol rifle.
This would be my first quality red dot.
Is the battery life acceptable on the 512.
I’d also need a suggestion on a flip-up co-witness site for the rear. From reading the threads here, I think I would prefer the 1/3 co-witness.
Thanks.
If you’re after a lower 1/3 CW you will need a riser (such as LaRue) to make that happen. I ran a 552 series for awhile and it was GTG for me only after I pulled a LaRue mount off of eBay.
As for the choice of EOTech; I’d say base it off the power source of other duty gear you post out with. If it’s AA go with the 512. If it’s 123 go with the XP series.
For a folding BUIS; Troy. But I would not ignore the fixed sights produced by LaRue, LMT, or DD.
Good luck and stay safe.
I just ordered an XPS2-0 to try it out. I found one for $442.97 but I had a $30 coupon with them so that made it $412.97 and no sales tax and $10 shipping. Then add in the $50 rebate from EoTech and its hard to beat. From what I have read people are pretty happy with them and have experienced no problems. I am going to put it on a LE6920 to give me a light quick rifle for CQB.
Who was the vendor? BTW–when your XPS comes in be sure to post a few pics.
vendor is sportsmans guide, i get coupons all the time from them… yesterday I got a $15 and $30 off so used them both, one on the XPS and the other on some ammo. Ends up being no tax and free shipping on the ammo and a good discount on the xps especially with the factory rebate.
I would go with the XPS. I have owned one for a few months now and I really like it. Also we had about five or six XPS’s recently in the VTAC Night Fighter class and we did not see any issues.
Below is our class photo.

A local dealer had the XPS2-0 in stock, so I bought one. Also got a YHM BUIS.
The XPS works great, put about 150 rounds through the gun with it on.
Really tighened up my groups. With my old eyes, irons just aren’t that accurate any more.
