The World War II generation witnessed the end result of totalitarianism and a great many of them decided there must be a “better way.” Many failed to understand that how “they were raised” made them “who they are.” Parents decided to make sure “their children” were spared any of the hardships they endured and they grew up in a time of incredible prosperity during the post war years.
And as this generation (and those who didn’t know the hardships of the depression as an adult) reached their teens they began to rebel against the old ways and with a lifetime of positive reinforcement and being told they were special they set out to change the world. And in they implemented several changes, often by means of violence and terrorism which they called “revolution.”
In the following years we suffered under their absurd and exaggerated ideas about the environment, society, crime and punishment, global security and other political ideas originating in the minds of dope smoking hippies.
They gave us things like the “me generation” and disco. As if hippies who preached peace and love while flinging feces on returning soldiers wasn’t bad enough.
We got a brief respite during the 80s but sadly much of it was a political backlash supported by extremist religious groups who sought to saddle us down with their agenda rather than a decade of genuine freedoms restored.
Soon it was back to business as usual, with the usual suspects and it has gotten so bad I no longer recognize the country that my father grew up in. He, like others, was also a baby boomer, but not part of their revolution.

It’s time to break the stranglehold of these ancient socialists and the neo liberals they have spawned with their failed vision of our country.
As they once said “Don’t trust anyone over 30.” But we’ll make it 40 because we aren’t as self absorbed.
