end plate sling adapter

i know there are many good brands out there but i want to know what the best one is. something a person deployed would choose or a model that would be approved by the military and something colt would put on their m4 as an oem accessory.

I like the Noveske endplate. It’s steel and $25. Others here have expressed regard for the Daniel Defense endplate, which is aluminum and $40.

It depends on what type of sling and attachments you want to use. I use Daniel Defense’s QD swivel end plate with a Blue Force Gear Padded Vickers sling. It’s my preferred setup. Noveske makes a nearly identical endplate.

The Magpul ASAP endplate works great with their MS3 sling, and lots of LE agencies use it, but it can be a plain to install, and I prefer the Blue Force Vickers sling to the MS3.

GG&G make duty quality slingplates in a variety of configurations for QD, HK hooks, or Burnsed loops (direct attach).

Blackhawk makes a simple sling plate that works with HK style hooks.

If we are talking normal everyday military and not SOF type guys that would be the one that came with the carbine to speak. The .mil tends to frown on Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines that start dicking around with their carbines when they aren’t supposed to and replacing parts. Especially if they have no idea how to get it back together (which a lot of them don’t)

Otherwise, the Vltor seems good to go. Put one on a friend’s carbine. But as always, depends on what you want. QD swivel, large loop, sling attachment…

What kind of sling do you have and what kind of attachment system do you want?

I’ve used the Noveske and DD endplates for QD swivels. Even though it costs more I prefer the DD, for the simple reason it gets the sling back away from the firing hand a little more. I’d prefer either of those over other options, as they are ambi and function well during transitions.

For a bolt on application, not requiring the removal of the receiver extension to install, I prefer the MAD Hook Up from Mission Adapted Design.

I highly doubt that the .MIL is going to allow you to remove the lower receiver extension and install any type of QD plate. I would simply go with a good sling like the Vickers Combat Application Sling. Single point slings basically suck and are only good for photo ops.

I use the Noveske end plate with a Vickers sling. One end on the receiver plate, the other on the rail by where the delta ring would be. I like this setup because it makes it very easy to transition to my support side without having to reposition the sling.

Tapatalk ate my grammar

The TangoDown PR-4 is an endplate adapter that doesn’t require disassembly of the RE. It also doesn’t allow you to fully collapse the stock. You might be able to get that approved.

If you are talking about the HK hook style or the nylon loop style; I have yet to see anyone use one through a day of training and not wish that they could take them off.

As IG said, single-points pretty much suck for actual use, unless you like getting hit in the dick or the knees repeatedly.

I will definitely have to get that end plate. how many points do you perfer with that set up? is that a three point or two point?

The Vickers sling is a Quick adjust two-point design. I attach it to the rear part of my rail and to the receiver endplate. It carries the gun barrel down and left across my chest. It doesn’t bang my knees, and is quick to get into shooting position.

Blue Force also makes a QD socket Burnsed adaptor that enables the sling to also function as a single point sling.

IWC sells an adapter that lets you convert a two-point sling to a one-point sling (Triglide adapter)

They also make one that will slip onto the sling if you have sewn ends.

I have one of these but ultimately I gave up on single point slings a while ago so I removed it. In fact, I also stopped using the Noveske endplate and opted for an opposite-side rear sling mount on the stock. I found that that arrangement allowed the sling to hang more to my liking and it facilitated my transition to pistol and weak-side shooting.

I’ve had a MI bolt on adapter and a DD end plate with the QD socket. I prefer the DD.

I have used the Noveske. And lately have been getting the G,G,&G,(The 19th one down on the page). It comes with a sling swivel.

You might not want to display your serial number for the entire world to see

just like guns, undewear, cars, and women… there is no “best”. It all comes down to needs, preference, budget etc etc etc.

For me, I use troy clamp on sling adapters as I don’t want to bother staking my castle nuts as every now and again I change my stocks out to solid stocks.

Some like quick disconnect mounts, some like no mounts and just use the standard m4 stock mount. Some people spent a lifetime chasing the magic “best” only to never find it as even if something works for them they for some reason default to thinking there is a need to find better things.

This looks decent. http://www.tacticallink.com/. I like the mount that came on my Daniel Defense, but this looks like a good option for those that can’t or don’t want to alter their weapon. I like to use the attachment point for my 2 point sling/burnsed loop. Its not just for single point slings.

Why? Are you going to enter it in some magical database and track him down? Or is the internet bogey man going to do something?

I was about to type the same thing, but you beat me to it. This is the exact arrangement I have arrived at after two years of trying everything else. There is no ONE way to sling a rifle, YOU have to decide through usage and experimentation.
