Ejection port cover engraving

Quick question for you all. Where do you get your ejection port covers with the custom engraving?

A lot of places sell them. Google it.

I have seen a ton of them on ebay.

I did google it. There are a few places that offer custom engraving, meaning they will engrave a saying that you want, your initials, etc. Such as Leo armory and TNT, but I wanted to know who people have used on here, because all engravers are not equal.

I figure the members on here would have great insight since they have used different vendors

Are you looking to do something custom in particular? A lot of shops out there have a whole line of pre-engraved covers.

I got mine from Brownells, but it isn’t anything special. If I wanted special I’d go to a store that does engraving.

Go to your local jeweler, more than likely they can do it.

I am looking to do something custom. On the outside, I want my initials on the left section and the caliber on the right section. On the inside of the cover I want “Aim Once” on the left section and “Shoot Twice” (or “Hit Twice” depending on how many letter can fit) on the right section.

Is whatever you put on your ejection port cover going to make you a better shooter?? What will your ejection port cover being saying to those around you? Seriously, what purpose is there to engraving the ejection port cover? Are you going to take a bunch of pictures of it?

+1 If anything it’s a liability if the rifle were to be used in a SD/HD scenario. How’s it going t look to an over zealous or anti 2a prosecutor or jury when you have “shoot twice” or “game over” or a punisher skull on your rifle? Just something to consider.

I wouldn’t worry to much about what you have on your ejection port cover, sometimes people think way to much about stuff,LOL !!! I have one with a USA Flag on it,looks good and it is very cool,;),& yes I think it does make me a better shooter,;),sorry just busting on ya !! Get what ya want, its your rifle !!!

Harford engraving can do whatever you want, excellent work. Take a look at the lower engravings, best you can get.

.

Definitely not going to improve accuracy that’s for sure. But you make a good point. I still would like to have my initials on it the caliber, but maybe I will forgo the saying. It is just a small detail on a “custom” gun. I put custom in quotes because, yes I built it from a pile of parts, but I did not machine any of the parts so it really isn’t a one off custom. If someone wanted to build the exact same gun they could buy the parts off the rack and put them together as well. Well maybe it is custom now with the scratches and I have put on it with some use

To an Anti-gun prosecutor or jury the fact that you used an AR-15 is gonna be a much bigger deal than whether or not it has an engraved ejection port cover. If this is a concern and you feel an ejection port cover engraving is going to make or break whether you are no billed or acquitted of charges you need to move and/or retain better council.

IMHO, I would leave it blank. Initials, ok maybe, gun caliber, not necessary but hey its a free country. It just seems to me that if its not going to do anything for you (other than look “tacticool man”) then why bother? How much ammo could you have bought with the money spent on “blinging” up your rifle?? I must be missing something here.

Agreed. Buy some ammo…prices could be spiking

It is 14 bucks hahah so like 40ish rounds.

I am stock piling ammo as well and starting the learning process for hand loading but I am months away from being well versed enough to even consider buying a press.

But I definitely agree it is just bling but adds a little personalization on the gun

I like the flag engraving and I also like the Sheriff dust cover. But for $20 bucks I can buy more ammo. I’m not into bling for my guns.

While I could care less what anyone puts on their gun (other than punisher grips on a 1911, that screams douchebag, especially if you wear your pants around your knees and look like you fell into a tacklebox face-first), I would like to know one thing…

Am I the only one bothered by the flag facing the wrong way on every engraved cover I’ve seen?
