I thought Id post a few pictures of a knife I just picked up. I have been trying to replace my edc folders with a small, fixed blade. Im a bit picky when it comes to knives. Finding a small, yet useful, neck type knife has been tough. Some of the ones I have tried have handles that are too small. Some use cheap steel that wont hold an edge. I purchased one that seemed great except for the fact that the blade was made from a rather thin piece of steel. The tip was was easily bent.
I found a video of Eddie White on You Tube. He was using a grinder to make a knife the old fashioned way. No CNC machines or water jets. I checked out his web site, www.shadowknives.com and sent him an email. He was more that willing to modify one of his patterns for me. He added jimping to the thumb ramp and modified the handle on one of his XX Neckers. He usually adds scales of some type. I asked him to omit those. He used a 1/4 piece of 154CM steel for my knife. Blade length is about 2 1/2 inches. OAL about 6 inches.
I am impressed with his work. The hollow grind is outstanding. He knows how to make a nice knife.His prices are reasonable and he got the knife to me fairly quick.
