Seeing that I spent tons of time trying to find reviews on this bag before purchasing with no luck… I figured Id post the pics of the new bag to help anyone else thinking about getting this vaporware. Eagle Industries Standard Pro Shooter Bag and Insert
This is the smaller of the Pro Shooter Bags. My first impression is that I may wish Id ordered the larger deluxe bag, but for now it looks like it will hold all of my pistol gear (G34 and G19 with accessories) just fine.
As you can see from the pics there is lots of room, especially headspace in the bag once youve filled the insert. I threw my Tactical Tailor Medic pouch on top, which is pretty fat, and there was plenty room to zip up with no problem. You could easily throw a jacket or lunch or whatever on top of all your gear and have lots of space.
The outside zip pouch is also very roomy.
Anyway… here are some pics if youre looking for something better than the horrible pics off of Eagle’s website. FYI, this is the Khaki color… it is very green. Compare the colors in the last picture of Tactical Tailors CB to the Khaki of Eagle.
I paid about $90 after shipping, which Im not regretting… but I have had it 3 hours… but I dont expect any problems and am satisfied that I got my money’s worth so far. Especially when youre talking USA made gear that is bombproof (so I hope).
Some pics of the insert, plus some gear. Notice the insert has two zippered gun pouches on the side that give it rigidity. Inside the zip pouches on the insert I was able to fit a pistol (G34 and G19) and 5 magazines on each side. The pistols fit inside the padded portion of the pouch, the magazines fit between the pad and the nylon on the zip pouch. So when you zip it up they are both enclosed.
Just a quick update, the only thing I would complain about thus far is that the shoulder strap is really too short. Maybe its because im really tall (6’5") but for me its just not usable even at the extreme end of the adjustment.
I have sent an email to Eagle Industries on their website, but haven’t received a response. We’ll see. I noticed a review of their E&E bag on this site and it said their first gen bag had a ridiculous short strap, and their next LE version was 10" longer. Im contacting them to see if i can get a longer strap.
Your pictures gave me an idea. I already have a range bag from MidwayUSA. It was purchased a few years ago on sale for $40. It’s a bargain at that price, but all the padding and extra external pockets make it too big, stiff, and bulky. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=939259680
