I’m looking at the Eagle Industries LE CAR 15 Discreet case that Natchez is clearing out and if anyone has used these I have a question you may be able to help with.
This particular case doesn’t have retention straps in the main compartment for the weapon In most other cases there’s two to keep it centered in the compartment. Eagle’s description states no straps to get in the way of quick access. If anyone is using this case does the lack of retention straps pose a problem for you. I’d prefer them to keep the weapon off the bottom of the case and banging on anything when handled.
My first choice in cases is the SERT, but that hasn’t been available in Khaki in over a year. The Eagle is avail in Khaki and OD. If anyone has seen these colors first hand let me know what you think.
I have several of the standard and LE Eagle discreet cases, with and without straps. I don’t use the straps at all. Several more patrol rifles are riding cased like that in trunks, without issue.
they have two different versions. the smaller one is called the “discrete” case and has no straps inside. the larger/taller one is called the “LE” case and has straps - I guess it’s to be able to carry two guns???
anyway, I live in a state that Natchez won’t sell to so I had my son-in-law order one of the discrete w/o straps for me. I’m picking it up this weekend so I’ll come back and let you know what’s up…
I’m glad I clicked on this thread. My piece of shit issue rifle bag is falling apart. Wasn’t looking forward to spending $$$ on a new one. Just ordered one from Natchez.
Quick question though. I know my Colt Commando will fit lengthwise, but what about with a magazine inserted?
That’s part of the reason my old one is falling apart. It isn’t tall enough to allow room for an inserted magazine without forcing it in the bag. Ended up with a big as hole being worn through the bottom.
The discreet should be the smaller one. I carry my SBR in one and for the price you can’t beat it with a stick. Also hold six mags in pouches. Lo profile for a gun case. I’m a fan.
Thanks to the OP for starting this thread and Devildawg for the picts. I just purchased a Colt LE 6920 last week and wanted something to carry it in. New to AR’s, this site is a great store of knowledge and info for a newbie like me.
For $50 from Natchezss $62 total, I figure I can not go wrong. It will be going to the range and back and it will be here this Thursday.
