Eagle FB Pouches, M&P9? Glock or M9?

Hey guys.

Quick question.

Im wondering which pouch fits the S&W M&P9 magazines better.

The glock 17 or the M9 FB versions. Im wondering if these will even work at all.

Thanks for the help guys!

The Glock pouches work the best.

I have both the Eagle FB pouches for Glock 17/22 and ones for the M9. I found the ones for the Glock 17 don’t provide any retention on the magazines. I use the ones designed for the M9 for my M&P 9mm mags. That is just my take on my particular set of pouches.

I put the M&P mags into my Eagle FB M9 pouch and they fit, tight but manageable.

Odd; when I place M&P mags into FB pouches for the M9 there seems to be about 1/8" of space in there and there is 0 retention. With the Glock pouches there is more retention.

I do believe Ben stated that they should be releasing some M&P specific FB pouches this year.

Hrm, conflicting info here. I guess i should probably wait for the specific pouches.

I just tried an M&P40 and 9mm mag in an M9 FB mag pouch, and it so tight it wont seat all the way down.
They do, however, work fine in my G17/22 FB pouches.

I sure a lot of the conflicting reports is attributable to manufacturing variations, as it doesn’t seem like the dimensions are that different.
Add to that, that many of the Eagle pouches I’ve seen do not have any markings on them, so who knows what it was actually made for, the kydex being deformed from sitting in a box, or with a mag in it, gear resting on it, etc etc. The fabric lining wearing down, could be a lot of reasons for the variation in fit.

I believe the M&P specific mags, was centered around the pouch placement, to prevent the large M&P baseplates from interfering with each other when drawing the mag.

Every G17/22 FB mag pouch I have works with my m&P mags, though.

That is odd, my pouches for the Glock 17/22, are the exact opposite. Mine have zero retention in the Glock 17/22 pouches. However, they are snug in the M9 pouches. The did break in pretty well after placing the mags in the pouches, and doing several mag changes.

While it certainly doesn’t help the OP’s original question this is interesting info. I would say call and ask Eagle or email Ben to see if they have a recommnedation while awaiting the M&P specific pouch.
