Dynamic Precision Shooting Apps??

Hey guys I came up with an idea while using one of my favorite precision shooting apps: Strelok.

Strelok is a basic ballistic calculator, where you punch in the known parameters and it spits out answers. Now what if you don’t know one of the main and key factors. Range. Of course there’s the mil method, but that requires knowing target height or width. Then there’s good old fashioned range estimation. Which I suck at. So how about Google maps overlay? Kind of like what runners use to record their runs, except one geared towards shooting. In my last job we used 10,8, and 6 digit grid coordinates on the daily. Why don’t we use GPS for range estimation? I don’t actually know if Google maps can run a 10 digit (1 meter) of accuracy but if it could, all you would need is some dead reckoning and point on the screen where your target is and Google maps could spit out a distance between you and your target.

This software could also be used by the precision shooter for setting up steel in the open desert for a quick range session. So does anything like this already exists, or does anyone know a good app developer?

i’m pretty sure Field Firing Solutions has a similar feature. I know it allows you to load maps and get distance estimates from them. Not sure where the ‘dynamic’ comes in
