Dust cover C clip

Would anyone happen to know what the size of the c clip is for the dust cover? Sucker popped off into the abyss never to be seen again. :suicide2:

Don’t know the size, but you can order one from the Citizen’s Armory for cheap and they will ship it for like $.70.

Thank you sir,…lol and with my luck of course they are out of stock!

Try Home Depot or Ace Hardware. My son brought some home from his job, he is an auto mechanic, so try an auto parts store. Bring the rod with you.

To help prevent that, when you install the next one, try turning it so the open end faces out away from the receiver.

Yea I was hoping to avoid having to do that since I put it back together,.but I may have to.

Is it possible to push the clip off with a computer flathead screw driver(the small ones)? Turn the round part of the clip towards the receiver and push on the bottom of the legs?

Is the upper assembled onto a rail? If not, you simply push to the rod forward towards the muzzle, use a small pair of needle nose pliers and push the clip back into place. The slide the rod back into place and just rotate it until the open part of the clip faces away from the receiver.

Are you asking how to remove it?

I already removed it,…was just looking for a better way.

The way I do it is align the long pin so the side of the c clip is against the side of the ejection port, rotate the c clip so the open end faces outward then open the jaws of the needle nose pliers until the tips rest on the tips of the c clip and carefully press in toward the receiver until it pops off. Usually this will keep it from flying away but it does take a bit of practice (controlled pressure).

For installation, once again adjust the pin so the groove for the c clip is right against the side of the opening where the pin comes through, then place the c clip open end right on the groove and against the pin hole to help keep it upright. Then carefully press it on using needle nose pliers. Sometimes a drop of oil on the c clip helps it “stick” in place for easier installation.

Much easier to show than explain here…good luck.

Haha I hear you and I understand what your saying,…thanks man.
