Duostock (what the hell is this?)

only about $20 more than a MOE

those things look so gay… designed for body armor, IIRC

body armor or no, isn’t one the AR’s strengths the fact that the stock is on the same plane as the barrel & action? (unlike an AK or a Thompson for instance)

i’ve never had an issue w/armor (including SAPI) and normal telescoping stocks. i guess i’m not HSLD enough for the Duostock

Duostocks were popular around 10 years ago…IIRC they were supposed to address cheek weld issues and conform with body armor. You don’t see them much any more. Obviously, there are better options out there.

wow. i’d never seen one before.

then again, around 10 years ago the only stock i’d ever used on an AR was the A2.

thanks for the info.

They still are making them – I talked to the people at the SHOT Show. They were right next to Tango Down if I remember right.

The idea is that we all now wear body armor and we all have a high rifle position so that we don’t have to bend down to look through the sites, etc. So the stock is made to kind of sit on your shoulder so you can sight without having to bend your neck and have it conform to your body armor.

Or something like that

whoa… strange looking

Transfer Device: Designed to transfer your money to the manufacturer.

I have seen and shot with one before and it is a piece of crap IMHO. There are much better options out there these days.

yea a dude at the local gun shop was trying to get me to buy one of these. i kinda gave him a funny look and said no thanks. ill be stickin with my MOE for a while.

What is the Duostock?

Unnecessary.

Somebody likes them…

.

I’d have to try one before I ripped the product.

I have one on my 9mm carbine and to be honest, I like it. I know, its ugly as sin & expensive compared to other options, but its also stable/comfortable if you’re shouldering closer to your centerline/clavicle. And like other companies fighting the good fight, Tony (the owner) donates a lot to LE and .mil when/where he can, so they are good people as well.

One of my former team mates who was killed in December 2007 (RIP) had one on his carbine. He seemed to like it. I played with it a few times, but not enough to form an opinion. I almost considered getting one just to try it out.

An answer in search of a question.

On the money.

Calling our BROTHERS gay? Walk in their boots!

true.

i thought it was more brand new gimicky stuff from cheaper than dirt…and i don’t try every goofy looking new CAA or Mako stock / handguard /grip that comes out.

i wasn’t aware they’d been around for 10 years and had seen some real world use.

…ha wrong again, but that’s cool. i come here to learn.

I don’t think I’d buy one to try out. Price is too steep for experimental use.
