Dry fire observations/comparison

The Larue needs the heavy trigger spring is what I was referring to. I also have the Schmid 2-stage that DSG Arms was putting out and I only tried the springs it came with. I did notice that the reset is shorter with the Schmid. You have to be careful about safety brands when using these triggers that have an extra shelf in the back to keep the disconnector in place. A friend bought a wilson ambi safety and it had a small section that stuck out into the trigger housing area and contacted that shelf on the back of the Larue trigger. He couldn’t figure why the safety would not engage till he looked down inside.

Yes, I’m still using the MBT heavy spring with Sionics 2-Stage triggers, though they haven’t seen much use in a while.

Couple updates:
As hinted at above, the TTU had to go back to Wilson in ‘21 for a spring change due to a broken hammer spring causing light strikes. This occurred after a 5-digit round count.

Another 5-digits later, it became a single-stage and had to go back again. We’re talking like 25,000-30,000 rounds or something in that neighborhood….it’s on its third or fourth barrel. They very promptly sent me a new TTU at no charge.

Wilson now sells springs on their website, which is great, because a homie had the very tip break off one of his hammer spring legs (Paul Howe TTU), which he did not realize, so no real problems.

The Triggertech survived a while in the PCC, and has been cleaned up and put back in a 5.56 gaming gun. That trigger has an exceptionally crisp break. I did have a light strike with it yesterday, but that gun is a work in progress that was having chronic failures to return to battery. So it might not have been the trigger’s fault.

I’ll update later with the HiPerFire 2 stage that is now in my PCC.
