new member here, got spizzed for an m4carbine [own 2 other ar rifles] and acquired a s&w 15a from bud’s gun shop , the other day it arrived. took it out of the box [and hard case] to look it over, not good!!! there is about about a 1/16" gap between the upper and lower, rattles when shook, or picked up. this is not acceptable to me, maybe i expect too much, just seems junky to me. i wouldn’t have thought s&w would let something like that out the door. not sure what to do about this, call smith and let them listen to it rattle on the phone, only to be told that “this is with-in their spec’s”, or take a loss on it and be truthful to some “chump”??? this whole situation irritates the snot out of me, also got an eotech to put on it, but feel this junker is not worth such a good site. the upper will twist on the lower by hand pressure, what will bullet torque do to it,3-5" groups at 50 yds.??? i’m not down on s&w, i own 4 m&p pistols, love them, thought the quality would carry across to ar-15’s. [still got my glocks, leary,] what do you guys think??? best course of action???any needed???
Call them is my vote. My S&W 15X is a very nice gun.
