Does muzzle crown matter when running a muzzle device?

I’m wondering if a target style muzzle crown will truly affect accuracy while running a muzzle brake/comp?
And conversely if a bad muzzle crown can still degrade accuracy despite having a muzzle attachment. I’m currently considering cutting down a barrel and then re threading and attaching a brake/51tooth mount but I’m wondering if I can get away without needing to purchase an 11 degree DIY crowning kit. Any thoughts?

A bad crown will bite you regardless…

Yes, it will affect it. For the most part, the bullet doesn’t know whether a muzzle device is attached…

You don’t have to crown the muzzle to 11 degrees but you must have a clean, even crown that’s perpendicular to the bore

This, it must be concentric and equal for best results.
