Does anyone know if DD makes their V7 with a lightweight 16" middy? I only seem to find a couple retailers who have it with Govt profile 16" barrel.
If these are made, where could I find an upper or complete rifle in this configuration?
I’ve called and talked to the DD folks on several occasions to ask questions, and they were always very courteous and helpful.
The V7 Ltwt should hit the shelves later this year I think. I love the V7 with the regular profile barrel. It definitely feels lighter than the V1 and V5…although I never looked up the actual weights.
for the record the shop I work at has V7’s in lightweight, gov’t, and S2W barrel profiles as I type
They do make them. They had one at AUSA this week. It felt real nice.
Call them up. Got my 14.5" LW Middy in a few weeks ago. And let me tell you…if sex were an object this would be it…

I have heard from DD directly that the production of LW barrels will stop for a while so they can catch-up with backorders. I’ve also heard, from outside source with good relationship with DD, that they might not make their LW barrels anymore and they will be replaced by the S2Ws.
