Does anyone make a 13.7" barrel? I know Noveske used to make one but I can’t seem to find it anywhere.
Do you know of any other companies who make one?
Thanks,
David

I found that one but it has a Wylde chamber which is the only problem.
The one the Rainier sells is the only one I can find too. Doesn’t the wilde have the capability to fire 5.56 and .223?
Have it reamed to 5.56, then. You can buy one of Ned Christiansen’s reamers or send it to a 'smith who can do it.
Incidentally, why are you looking for a 13.7" barrel?
Noveske still offers the 13.7" as a complete upper:
Could you make do with a Noveske upper? :p:p:p
Seriously, perhaps if you called them they could scrounge up a 13.7 even though it is not on the website.
I’m assuming it’s due in part to this quote from Rainier’s site…
Perfect fit for permanently attaching a Noveske KX3 Flash hider.
Just a guess though… ![]()
Contact Noveskee. He would be the one to ask. He could sell you the parts or the bbl complete with a Pig already permanently attached.
You should be able to call in and order one. We don’t list them because everyone wants the KX3 permanently attached to the barrel.
The KX3 (or any muzzle device) and gas block need to be removed to install the barrel nut and handguard.
what’s the matter with that? noveske’s stainless barrels aren’t 5.56 either… they’re very similar to wyldes. “noveske match” chamber.
i’ve had a number of wylde chambers, and always run 5.56 through 'em. never a stuck case, with brass, steel, or brass after steel. it’s a good chamber.
Understood. But the OP lives in an SBR-friendly state. Plus the KX3 is quite heavy and if he finds he doesn’t like it after installation, he’s out a fair amount of cash having it removed (if it has to be destroyed for removal).
Just trying to understand the motivation from his end.
indeed… the OP needs to understand that this weapon will be very unbalanced, muzzle heavy. stainless medium barrels are heavy to begin with, then add a big chunk of steel to torque on the muzzle- not something i’d want to spend any time with.
You hit it spot on!
I want to be able to get it without the fixed KX3 so I can decide if it suits my needs.
I understand that my chosen parts are not the lightest out there but I believe that the pro’s outweigh the cons in this situation.
All that matters is that it works for me.
I was thinking about the same thing a little while ago. I ended up going the SBR route instead. But here is what I was going to set it up as.

what are the pros? what’s your mission?
That is more or less exactly what I am going for but with a DD Lite 12" Rail.
How easy was the SBR route? I might consider it.
The KX3 directs the sound forward so in a real world situation – where I do not have hearing protection – it is not as loud for me.
I’ve also read that the extra weight at the end of the barrel allows for faster follow-up shots.
Scratch that… I did some reading and its more than I care to go through at the moment.
have you ever fired a weapon with a kx3? with a 13.7" barrel, i’m not sure if it’s going to make much difference. and you’re talking about a home-defense situation, where you can direct all the sound you want, but it’s still just gonna bounce off the walls and right into your ears.
how much training do you have? the heavier muzzle might help a little with rapid fire, but the biggest boon to muzzle control is training. lots and lots of it. and with a weapon as muzzle-heavy as yours, training will suck… so you’ll still suck at rapid fire. and if extra weight is of any benefit, it’s to fine-tune a man/weapon combination that’s already got it down pretty well- its not gonna help somebody who cant already control his muzzle well enough.
also, there are compensators that actually completely eliminate muzzle rise.
it’s a lot easier than most people expect… where did you do your reading?
not trying to be challenging or argumentative- just throwing up my 2 cents in the hopes of being helpful.
