Military Arms Channel did a test a while back where 5.45x39 penetrated the most compared to .308, 5.56, and 7.62x39.

Excellent video, as always. I missed that one. Not surprising that the results vary slightly from MAC’s results, the trees can’t be identical and at different locations, they are bound to be more or less hydrated. I’d say your results are still generally consistent with his and wildly different from mine. Again, I would have expected the live tree to stop bullets better.
