Does a Colt 6520 have M4 feed ramps?

I think all Colt LE Carbines have M4 feed ramps.

I have several but all were purchased after 2006 so I am not sure on older models but the ones I own all have m4 feedramps.

I love anything that has to do with a Colt Cutie…they are imho the quintessential k.i.s.s.:slight_smile:

My AR6520 has M4 feed ramps. It also came with the wimpy bolt carrier group (which I swapped for a BCM FA BCG before I ever shot it) and the skinny handguards (that I swapped for M4 handguards). I’m pretty happy with it now. :slight_smile:

I have owned two 6520s, both bought just under 5 years ago. Both of mine had M4 ramps cut in AFTER anodizing but to the correct dimensions and spec. Somewhere I have pictures of them.

My '94 version has M4 ramps and the most recent one I have seen does as well.

Bingo! that’s the carbine I wanted, and made myself, when I bought my 6520s. Of course, being Colt, they are really a day late and a dollar short. :wink:

When you say they are a dollar short, what do you mean? Are you thinking it should have been built more like the Daniel Defense DDM4v2 LW?

No, not really. I’ve moved away from rail systems personally for the most part.

I just mean that with so many other companies finally making lightweight barrels, with mid-length gas systems, or barrels that are hammer forged, there are more options, often better options for many people, for less money in many cases.

AR6520s produced within the last few years have extended ramps. Like Rob notes, they all seem to be cut post-anodizing. This includes US and Canada made carbines.

I’ll add another vote for the 6720. I like mine very much.

I looked at a 6520 today. The feed ramps were shocking. The feed ramps on the upper did not mate with the feed ramps on the barrel extension. There was a big drop off after the feed ramps of the upper as if the upper and the barrel extension had been made by 2 guys on 2 different continents who had never talked to each other.
