Is there a quality butt plate replacement option for the AK? My kid’s shoulder is always beat up when he shoot his AK.
I have to believe that there’s a nice option to reduce this pain.
A quick google search turned up several options but I have no personal experience. I have used a cheap ($40-50 off CDNN I think) Timber Smith furniture set that had a rubber butt pad. It was fine.
Gotta think your kid is holding a little loose at the shoulder though, that’s the only time I’ve seen beatings short of really stout magnums. Just my .02. You know your stuff, and your kid. I’m just some rando on the web.
I ended up finding a decent looking butt pad from “Left Side Armory”.
Should arrive Sunday. They have good pics and measurements to match the screw hole positioning for his replacement.
I can’t believe Magpul doesn’t make something like this.
