DIY? Or have a profressional do it?

I, like many of you, believe in purchasing the best product in order to have the most robust and reliable rifle/pistol/etc. With this in mind, I was wondering if I should even attempt to put together my lower, as I may “F” something up, but it APPEARS to be a rather easy process. The lower in question will be a Stag Arms lower, Stag LPK and MagPul CTR stock with a mil-spec receiver extension. The upper, at the moment, will most likely be a Denny GTS built upper sporting an Operator barrel (I was waiting on BCM, but their current ETA is sometime in spring. I was also looking at Noveske’s N4 Lite upper, but want a 16" middy, which I heard will be coming, but there’s no ETA).

At any rate, in my quest to have a set up that is as reliable as it can be, should I opt to have a professional put the lower together. I have all the directions possible and the tools necessary and feel pretty confident abou the build; however, a more experienced builder would probably do a better job.

What says the board?

Lowers are easy to put together, takes about 5 minutes or so

The hardest part is the two roll pins. You will need a couple of roll pin punches to handle that task.

Just go easy on the trigger guard roll pin. The tabs can break if you don’t have the trigger guard in place while you’re drifting the pin.

It’s funny what care we take to assemble the lower… avoiding scratching and stuff… Then we go and beat the guns to hell.
