DIY froglube applicator

I got tired of slopping froglube all over the place with the large mouth
opening on the bottle, so I came up with this…

I took a basketball needle (if that is what they are called) and heated it briefly with a propane torch, then melted it in to the plastic hole. Then I cleaned it with degreaser and applied some JB weld. I had all of this stuff just laying around.

Looks pretty sweet. Let us know how it holds up with use!

…sent from my mind, using telepathy!

You can pick up needle oiler bottles at some hobby shops that deal with HO trains and RC cars, and Brownells carries them…
oilers

Nicely done! I’ve always used an old one of those small Hoppe’s No. 9 Oil bottles with the neeldle tip and just put in my prefered oil at the time. I might do something similiar to you with my froglube bottle. Thanks for the idea.

I like a big bottle with a tight cap and then transfer the FrogLube to a small bottle with twist tip that way if the applicator leaks you only lose a small bottle and not your entire master bottle. YMMV

I went to local feed supply, that has stuff to give shots to horses and cows. Picked up some different size syringes and large gauge needles for under $5 . I use for oils and cleaners.

Just buy the paste and use an acid brush to apply it. It goes on even with zero mess.

This is ingenius! I don’t know why I never thought of something like this.

Indeed… these are at brownells already. No need to reinvent the wheel.

The USGI squeeze lube bottles are nice too.

I use a q-tip.

I use the paste as a lube (applied with my finger), and use the CLP mainly as a cleaner.

I toiled with the idea of ordering a bottle, but the cheap bastard inside of me took over. What I made works perfectly for my needs.

Me too!!!
