Discreet AR Case

I’m interested in purchasing a case for my carbine but I don’t want the it to scream BLACK RIFLE!!!

Maybe just a plain looking rectangle. I don’t mind if it is an actual gun case.

Or a violin case… I dunno…

Recommendations please.

I have one of these I use some times.
Price went up though… Mine was thirty something.

I’ve been looking for one myself and have been eyeing up this Castle Rock Tactical Discreet Case: www.castlerocktactical.com/crt_dc16.htm

This case screams folding chair or pop up tent to me.

FYI, if you are going to disguise your rifle as a guitar/golf clubs/musical instrument/tennis racket and or any other item be ready to be asked questions.

Like “Hey, I never knew you played, let’s jam out sometime!”

It can, and will, be awkward. :o

What is your intent, exactly?

Are you trying to make it look like nothing of value so that it is less likely to be stolen?

Or, are you just trying to make it look like anything except a rifle?

If you stick it in a pelican case… those are used for carrying all sorts of electronics, cameras, etc. They don’t really say “gun” to the average person… but they scream “valuable” to the thief.

I just received my Blueforce Gear DAP case it’s small were I have to breakdown my AR but it works great. I got the urban bronze color on their last call page for $35, can’t beat that. I also ordered a few of the dapper keepers in order to hold everything in place and one of the triple M4 mag pouches. It looks like a keyboard bag they still have a few different colors on there for sale.

Mostly trying to make it look like anything but a rifle.

Eagle Industries 32 inch discreet rifle case, check Natchezz I bought 2 when they went on sale for $32 each. They are made by license in the Dominican Republic.

Pelican case is the answer, then. They’re used for any number of valuable/fragile items and if I saw someone carrying one down the street I would, as a gun guy, probably assume it was something else.

I have a Boyt case which is very similar to a Pelican except it has latches that I like better. Really tough, will work for airline travel.

I got myself one of the 28" DAP cases in green. I figured that black and tan cases will be noticed by other gun owners, so I went with green. There’s also blue and burgundy for less obvious colors. The small size also keeps it from looking like a rifle case.

I thought about using my guitar case for the AR, but that equally attracts thieves and like was said earlier, it will attract questions from musicians. Likewise a sports also might bring questions. Pretty much any big secure case like a Pelican will be a target for thieves.

This is my advice also. Realllllllllly good deals in the last call section!

i have 2 of these cases.
Bulldog Cases Ultra Compact In. AR-15 Discreet Carry Rifle Case 29 In. - Navy Blue. BD475. Bulldog Cases Holsters.

my only complaint is there are only 2 mag holders. i have thought about get more sewn in.[/QUOTE]

here is a great pic of it open.

After being curious about my christmas present, i learned that my wife is getting me a Larue Tactical discreet carry case. I will post back after the new year with my thoughts on it.

Second the Pelican. Indestructible. Especially if you plan on any serious travel with your firearm.

For me personally, “discreet” cases have become so commonplace that they all scream “weapon” to me, no matter which brand or type.

I love the latches on my Boyt case. No chance of them accidentally opening at all. And they’re just as tough as the pelicans.

If you place the rifle diagonally across the case will it fit assembled?

Pics of the DAP 28" case I got on the BFG Sale. My 6933 fits perfectly with a 20rd mag inserted, just need to attach some mag pouches and a pouch for my can on the other side of the divider.
